FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE ProMedia Training Partners With Phish To Present “House of Live Phish” Cyber Café At “Festival 8” Halloween Party, Oct. 30-Nov. 1, ‘09ProMedia To Provide Pro Audio Workstations Featuring The Pro Guidance Of Phish Engineers Ben Collette & Jared Slomoff
One of the on-site features this year will be “The House of Live Phish”, a next-gen cyber café, where fans can download individual sound files of Phish concerts, TRACK BY TRACK and create custom mix CDs. For this unprecedented offering, ProMedia is providing five Pro Tools Expert Instructors, 10 computers, 10 mobile Pro Tools mixing and listening stations with technical guidance by Phish engineers Ben Collette and Jared Slomoff. Collette, a graduate of Pro Media Training’s Digidesign Pro Tools Certification program, has worked with Trey Anastasio for the past number of years on various live and studio recording projects, including all of his solo albums, from Bar 17 up through the recent orchestral album Time Turns Elastic. Most recently, Ben had the opportunity to record Trey’s orchestral performance with the New York Philharmonic at Carnegie Hall. Slomoff is a producer, engineer, and musician who toured as part of Page McConnell’s band after co-producing McConnell’s debut solo album in 2007. In addition, Jared has been manger of Mike Gordon's Cactus Unlimited production studio since 2001, working closely with Gordon on his various music and film projects from Inside In Through The Green Sparrow. “Our vision for the ‘House of Live Phish’ is an air conditioned tent full of computers and Pro Tools workstations allowing fans to remix their favorite Live Phish tracks,” explained Ben. “In the past, we’ve provided iMacs for those so inclined to create their own CD compilations of tracks from the LivePhish.com catalog of over 160 live shows – that will be true again this year.” Jared adds, “This year we’re aiming for a more interactive experience by allowing fans to a create their own mixes from prepared multi-tracks. Those with little to no background will have fun just pushing the faders around while experienced engineers can go wild re-mixing. This is an idea that’s been brewing for many years now and we’re excited to see what people come up with.” Details on “Festival 8” are available here: www.phish.com/festival8/halloween/ Details on ProMedia Training’s Pro Tools Certification courses are available here:
